Ball &Young manufacture over 20 different weights of blown underlays in various designs. Blown rubber underlays are currently the best selling type of underlay in Europe and have been popular for over 30 years. Traditional rubber underlays, produced with various waffle profiles and in a wide range of weights for use in light domestic, general domestic and luxury locations.

The innovative Cloud 9 range was voted No 1 by the U.K. carpet trade. Included in this range are the universal Cloud 9 Contract, Cloud 9 Super Contract and Flame Retardant 4, 6 & 8 products for use in stretch fit and double-stick applications in both domestic and contract locations. The Cloud 9 Flame Retardant range is particularly suited for use in shipping installations.

Cloud 9 is one third of the weight of an equivalent rubber underlay. Carpet fitters and underlay stockists realised the benefits of a top quality underlay that could be lifted, handled, cut and fitted with ease. In 1998 just over 3 years since it's launch the readers of Carpet & Floorcovering Review, the UK's most respected trade journal, voted Cloud 9 the number one underlay.

Due to the success of Cloud 9 two new products were launched in 2000, Cloud 9 Contract and Cloud 9 Super Contract. Designed for both contract or domestic work where a firm fitting with a touch of luxury is required both products can be used for stretch fit or double-stick applications.
