T&R introduces new quality & cost-focused Essentials Range

T&R Floor Covering Distributors has introduced a new Oak Essentials Range to its collection of wood floors. Available from stock, the new Kährs product has neutral packaging and provides a cost-focused one-strip option - filling the gap for a high performance, quality board at a budget price.

All Kährs Essentials floors feature a popular single plank design and bevelled edge. Boards measure 1860mm x 189mm x 14mm and benefit from a multi-layered construction and Kährs Woodloc® joint. A choice of three durable pre-finishes is also available: satin lacquer, matt lacquer and nature.

Each of the three Essentials floors is offered with a 25-year guarantee. The boards can be laid on most dry, level surfaces including concrete, wood and particle board, and are ideal for installation over both capillary and electric underfloor heating systems.

Other new products to join T&R’s range for spring/summer will include Kährs Founders Collection.

T&R and ARDEX to host subfloor training day

T&R is hosting a Technical Training Day in conjunction with ARDEX. The event will focus on subfloor preparation and will take place at FITA (the Flooring Industry Training Centre) in Loughborough, Leicestershire on Thursday 27th June.

The hands-on industry event will incorporate both technical content and product demonstrations, featuring products from the ARDEX range including: ARDITEXNA latex, subfloor levelling and smoothing compound, ARDEX DPM I C and water-based levelling and smoothing compound ARDEX K11 – as well as a variety of adhesives and repair mortars. Special offers will also be available on the day, in addition to product give-aways.

T&R donates tools of the trade for CFA Apprentice Award

T&R Floor Covering Distributors has joined the sponsorship team for the industry’s first CFA Apprentice of the Year Award. The new award forms part of the annual CFA/CFJ Flooring Industry Awards and is sponsored by Construction Skills. Along with the prestigious accolade, the winner will receive a generous prize package. This will include a specialist professional tool kit, with tools donated by T&R.

Paul Clifford, Sales Director at T&R commented, “Like so many other sectors, our industry has an ageing workforce. Apprenticeships are vital in securing skilled recruits for the future and we need to do everything that we can to encourage and support them. The new Award is a fabulous initiative and we’re delighted to be involved.”

Products donated by T&R include tools and accessories from Ardex, Stanley, Sweeney, Techno and Uzin.

T&R joins grass roots sponsorship team for Hucknall Sport’s under 9’s

T&R Floor Covering Distributors has joined the sponsorship team for a flourishing local football side. In support of grassroots sport, T&R will be sponsoring both the home and away strips for Hucknall Sport’s under 9’s White. Formed in May 2012 - with only five players and no league experience - the now 12-strong squad ended the 2012/3 top of the league!

During their first season, the under 9’s have had two promotions, were runners up in the Winter League and are now League Champions of the Spring/Summer League. They also progressed to the semi-final of the Long Eaton Tournament and have received a trophy from Nottingham Forest’s Steve Chettle at a Royal Concert Hall.

Paul Clifford, T&R’s Sales Director commented, “The Hucknall under 9’s have done amazingly well over the last season. We’re very proud to be involved with the team; encouraging and supporting youngsters in sport is so important.”

The squad’s management team plan to stay with the ‘Budding Beckhams’ as they progress throughout junior football – and T&R will continue to sponsor the team strips for the duration.
